It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a side that has won it all.

It needed as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batters to possess a record if not provided the chance.

Ultimately, the result of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her bow and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

If this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the case for championship match pressure. Others can counter with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was much more difficult to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it has been a challenging time because it seemed my form was missing completely," stated Healy.

"However when you take the field, your fighting spirit kick in and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her key asset - and a priceless quality in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from that point Healy was in motion.

"A chance to play and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was dismissed her side required another 66 at one run per ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the confidence to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we believe we can succeed."

Those words will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this championship should hear.

In recent days a sense they will win from any position has only strengthened - this triumph succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was at that stage they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wished she had played despite the injury.

However although she afterwards confessed those injuries have postponed thoughts of retirement, this championship is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as skipper.

Success in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
